Support & Impact Areas
Explore our clubs, societies, and the positive impact our students make.
1. Science Club Achievements
The school's science club has made significant strides since its inception in June 2024. Despite the learners not being academically gifted, they have shown exceptional creativity and innovation in their inventions.
Notable Achievements:
- Cadwell Mafukashe and Tinashe Chizanga developed grinding mills, showcasing their technical skills.
- Tawananyasha Bazeya created a grinding mill that processes and grinds simultaneously, demonstrating advanced problem-solving abilities.
- Pride Chinyangana impressed with two projects:
- A house model featuring doors and windows that open and close using a hydraulic system.
- An excavator model using a hydraulic system (with a drone project in progress).
- Wishby Mupangabuwe designed a house model with a security system using motion sensors, triggering flood lights when doors or windows are opened while the system is armed.
These projects showcased the learners' talent for innovation and practical application.
2. Agriculture Club Achievements
Fish Pond
The department successfully constructed and operationalised a fish pond with a stocking capacity of approximately 3,000 tilapia breams. The project operates on a five to six-month production cycle, with an average projected harvest weight of 250–350 grams per fish, translating to an estimated yield of 750–1,050 kilograms per cycle. This initiative provides hands-on aquaculture training for learners, enhances food security, and presents a sustainable income-generating opportunity for the school.
Pawpaw Plantation
A pawpaw plantation consisting of 200 trees was established and is managed under supervised student practical programmes. The plantation is expected to reach productive maturity within 9–12 months, with each tree yielding approximately 30–60 fruits annually. This results in an estimated annual output of 6,000–12,000 pawpaw fruits.
School Tuckshop
A school tuckshop was established and is operated by students under the Number Crunchers Club. The initiative promotes entrepreneurship, financial literacy, accountability, and practical business management skills among learners.
These achievements reflect the school's commitment to practical education, sustainability, and institutional development.
3. Alpha High School Choir
The Alpha High School choir was established in February 2024 with 28 students. Under the guidance of school chaplain Mr. Makaha, the choir was assigned two directors, Mr. Puruto and Mr. Musimwa, who worked tirelessly with the students from May 2024 to date.
The directors have helped the choir improve significantly, leading to performances:
- During school assemblies and school events
The choir's progress is a testament to the directors' expertise and the students' hard work and enthusiasm, showcasing their growth and potential as a musical ensemble. Their performances have been well-received, earning them recognition and appreciation from audiences.
